Dear Science Fair Sponsor,

Thank you for all you have done in the past months to prepare your students for the Region 11 Science Fair. You met deadlines, checked papers, encouraged your students and are to be congratulated on a job well done by both you and your students.

The “February Packet” section of this page contains:

• A listing of all your Project Numbers. Room numbers for papers will be given the day of the fair.
• Schedule of Events.
• A Map for the University of St. Francis.
• Letters to be distributed to your project/paper session participants.
• Checklists to be distributed to your project/paper session participants.
• Project tags to be cut out and placed on each project. Project numbers must be written on the project tags ahead of time.
• A copy of the guidelines your judges have already received.

Please take some time to read all this material and share it with your students. Please pay careful attention to the Schedule of Events. Students need to be on time for their sessions. Judges need to be present for the meeting at 8:15 A.M. and are expected to judge both morning and afternoon sessions.

Competition can be difficult for our young participants. Adequate preparation can help to calm their fears. Please be sure that both students and you have signed all papers because failure to do this can lead to disqualification. To avoid tears (the students and ours), be sure each project student has a card table for their project.

Last, but, not least, we are asking for your assistance as a Safety Judge at the Regional Fair on March 7th. There will be two times when your help will be needed: 7:15 AM - 8:15 AM and 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Please report to the Safety Table at the entrance to the Gym for your instructions, stickers, and safety sheets at the beginning of both safety checks. If you notice anything that might have been missed, please inform the safety coordinator immediately. Although all of the abstracts and safety sheets have been checked for possible vertebrate and bacteria violations, please check all papers for student and sponsor signatures. Please know that this commitment and your expertise are greatly appreciated!
